From the Phuket News:

PHUKET: Police yesterday (December 19) arrested a Phang Nga man at a Kathu condominium in possession of an 11 millimeter firearm, holster, magazine with five live 11mm rounds, meth pills and a smoking device thought to be used with crystal meth.

Under the command of of Pol Maj Littichai Chumchai of Phuket Provincial Police, officers nabbed the suspect, named as Mr Palawat “Gif” Sittisak, 27, of Phang Nga at around 4pm at The Scene condominium in Kathu’s Moo 1.

According to the police report filed last night, officers learned of the suspect from another drug suspect, 26-year-old Mr Arunpong “Duke” Kieawman, who’d been arrested on Friday in Wichit and charged with unlawful possession of an undisclosed amount of crystal meth (Ya Ice) and a firearm.

During an interrogation, Duke had told police that Gif was a regular consumer and dealer of meth in his drug network, and then agreed to to lead police to the suspect’s residence in Kathu, where he was certain there would be more drugs.

Driving his own car, Duke then led officers to the Kathu condominium and after positively identified the suspect outside, police proceeded to confront Gif, who initially pleaded innocence to allegations of drug dealing, the report read.

But after showing their credentials, police reported that the suspect finally confessed to only being a small time user and then proceeded to lead police to his room where they found the five ya ba pills in a resealable plastic bag, along with the firearm, holster, magazine, live rounds and drug paraphernalia.

Gif has been charged with possession of a Category 1 drug (Ya Ba), drug paraphernalia, a firearm and accessories without permits.
