Russian woman cyclist subjected to Phuket snatch and run

From the Phuket News:

PHUKET: Thalang Police are searching for two male suspects with tattooed faces after they robbed a Russian woman and kicked over her bicycle, sending her sprawling on the ground this morning (Nov 28).

Olga Shnyreva, 35, told police that she was riding her bicycle on the behind on Baan Tha Ruea-Baan Koh Kaew Rd, behind Wat Tha Ruea at about 8am, when two young men rode up on a black motorcycle. The motorbike driver snatched her bag from the handlebars at the same time his male passenger kicked her bicycle, said Lt Col Sanit Noopayan of the Thalang Police. Ms Shnyreva suffered minor scrapes and bruises on her right shoulder, arm and elbow. The thieves, estimated to be in their early 20s, sped off toward Thepkrassatri Rd with her iPhone, valued at B26,000, and B400 cash. “I fell on on the road while they sped away. Both of them have small tattoos with blue ink on their faces,” Ms Shnyreva said. “Ms Shnyreva told us that she can remember both men’s faces and told us the description of the tattoos on their faces,” Col Sanit said. “We will also check CCTV footage from Thepkrasattri Rd to see if we can find a match. We hope to find these suspects soon.”
