8 arrested in Phuket for drug possession

PHUKET: Police arrested six men and two woman over the weekend (Sept 4 to Sept 6), who were all found to be in possession of various drugs including kratom leaves, crystal meth (ya ice) and methamphetamine pills (ya bah), a gun and ammunition.

All those arrested are currently being held at Phuket City Police Station with the exception of Kitipong who is being held at Vichit Police Station.

On Friday (Sept 4), Wiwat Homnua, 21, was arrested with 510 grams of kratom leaves and Chokdee Nunoi, 27, with 0.96 grams of ya ice. Wiwat was charged with possession of a category 5 drug, Chokdee with possession of a category 1 drug.

Kitisak Seaton, 43; Anitwat Chanan, 30, and a Myanmar national named as Nai, 34, were arrested on Saturday (Sept 5) with 3.40 grams of ya ice, 1.17 grams of ya ice and 10 ya bah pills, and 4.11 grams of ya ice respectively. Kitisak and Anitwat were both charged with possession of a category 1 drug/s, Nai with possession of a category 1 drug and staying in Thailand without permission.

Whilst yesterday (Sept 6), Saowapah Phanalee, 23, and a 17 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested with 94.50 grams of ya ice and 4,674 ya bah pills. They also has in their possesion four shotgun cartridges. Both were charged with possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell and having ammiunition without permission.

Also yesterday, Kitipong Sealew, 28, was arrested when he was found to be in possession of 1.13g of ya ice, a gun and 131 bullets. He was charged with possession of a category 1 drug with intent to sell and having a gun and ammunition without permission.

All those arrested are currently being held at Phuket City Police Station with the exception of Kitipong who is being held at Vichit Poilce Station.
